Congratulations Graduates

Congratulations Graduates. Your journey doesn’t end there and it is just a mere beginning for another phase in life. If you are currently working now, congratulations, but if you don’t have a job yet and needs to have one, remember these things as you apply:
.
Prepare your resume
Well, this is the most basic thing that you can really do before you apply. You can create a resume online like linkedin, upwork, freelancer or you can create through your office document software like MS Word. In creating a resume, remember that you only need to write what is necessary. Do not include things like “I love to cook egg using a frying pan”, only include things that describe you and will be necessary for the company or the position you want. If you need a reference for your linkedin account, go to this link:

.
Be what you want to be
Before you apply, set the skills necessary to build your career. Study what are the latest technologies and what the company are actually doing or using especially that everything is not taught in the school. School is just the basic of the most basic things you can ever learn for your job.
.
Medium of application
We are not in the dark civilization anymore. We have many ways to identify possible job opportunities and submit an application. There is no problem with walk-in application but also try to apply using linkedin, jobstreet, upwork, freelancer and other platforms. There are tons of job opportunities online and it reduces your cost both monetarily and in effort. Also, online application can accumulate many job opportunities. There is also a possibility that you will have your interview through Skype especially for IT related jobs.
.
Investigate
Before you engage into anything, you must be loaded with tons of information necessary. That goes the same with applying for a job, you can’t just apply without the knowledge and information about the company. Identify what the company is all about, what are the possible positions, what are the vacancies and identify whether you want it or not. Always prepare yourself before you apply.
.
Be polite all the time
If you will be invited for an interview, your attitude comes first and your interviewer will observe from the way you move, the tone of your voice and the choice of words. Always remember to do the basic things that was taught to us by our parents and our grade school teachers to always knock the door and greet the people around us, especially to the one you are trying to apply and its employees.
.
Give yourself a confidence
Remember that all of us are human being, the interviewer is not a monster and you shouldn’t be afraid of them. Do not look yourself as if you are nothing and you don’t have a value just like how your lover treats you (joke). But really, give yourself a value, that’s how you gain confidence. Remember all hardships you overcame just to graduate your course and if you are skillful enough, then I guess that’s already the key to your confidence.
.
Dress up
Grooming is a way of telling someone of how much you respect them. Try to wear your best clothes during your interview if you want your interviewer to be impressed and feel respected.
.
Follow instructions
We are taught in the school to always follow instructions. If the company you’re trying to apply gives you instructions, always follow it if you want to have the job. If not, then you shouldn’t apply any job.
.
Never focus on a single company
Not all companies are vacant for position, they are hiring because they need someone for the job, they won’t hire to pay salary for nothing. If a company will make you wait for a call for another interview, never wait for more than 1 month.
.
Never settle for less
The reason we apply for a job is to make money. Employment is a way to make money through salary. During an interview, let the interviewer open up the topic about your salary. If the interview ended without discussing this, it’s fine. Because many companies are settling the compensation when you are hired, but never settle for less. Identify the minimum wage and if it can’t reach it, of course do not take it. In the case of IT Jobs like software development, web development, SEO, and other jobs related to it, the salary goes beyond that minimum wage it must be doubled or tripled than that, remember that foreign clients abroad are paying 100-300k per developer and you will be payed with minimum wage. Identify the average salary possible for your skill and it’s up to you if you accept the company offer.
.
Don’t forget your friends
If the company is still hiring when you are hired, inform them so that they could also have the opportunity. It’s just a way of appreciation for the blessing you just had.
.
ONCE AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES AND MAY GOD BLESS US ALL ALWAYS
